Question: I bought a T50 about 6 months ago and the light sensor isn’t working. How can I replace it?
Answer: A reset might help restore it, so don’t worry. Remove the batteries for a minute or two to let it reset. Try new batteries, that might help.

Question: Can this also be used for ducks? I have Perkins who share the coop with our chickens.
Answer: We have a few large chickens and they have no problem going through the door. I think the ducks would do fine too. By the way, it’s a great door.

Question: Can someone tell me how to set the evening lock? The first time I just set the dial next to the sun, and it closed 45 minutes before it got dark.
Answer: You can set the evening lock by turning the potentiometer (test button) clockwise to the moon symbol and turning on switches 1 and/or 2 on the drive unit. If switch 1 is on, the door closes 30 minutes after sunset, and switch 2 closes 60 minutes after sunset. If both switches are on, the door closes 90 minutes after sunset.

Question: Can you set the evening lock the same way as the morning lock?
Answer: Of course, you can adjust the evening lock by turning the potentiometer located at the bottom right of the power unit (as shown in the instructions). It’s tool-free and always accessible.

Question: How does this opener work at below-freezing temperatures? Also in snow and ice?
Answer: I think as long as no water/moisture gets into the slots and mechanisms, there’s nothing to freeze solid. The metal contracts in the cold, so the tolerances get a bit larger.
